A new version of Cromwell and Xromwell with direct boot to Sparkle. You no longer need to burn Sparkle to a CD, you simply place two files (sparkle and sprkrd.gz) into E: along with an updated linuxboot.cfg (or you can let xbvset update it for you, this is why I've been bugging you to run magic!). There is a third icon now which is labelled "Sparkle", click this and your filesystems will be checked and fixed (hopefully, at least).

Cromwell is a free, legal bios replacement for the Xbox. It is capable of loading Linux from the Xbox's Hard Disk, and CDROM. It is not able to load Xbox games, either originals or copies. It can be installed and used in one of two ways.
* Flashed to a modchip - If selected, it will let you boot linux. If not selected, it will load the original MS bios, so no functionality is lost.
* Flashed to the TSOP - this replaces the MS bios stored on the Xbox, and makes it impossible to play games (whether original or not).
The advantage of the second method is that it makes it possible to dedicate the whole harddisk to Xbox Linux.
Xromwell is a very similar program, built from the same sourcecode. However, instead of being a bios, it is an XBE (XBox Executable), meaning that it can be launched like other XBEs. It is not signed with the MS key, which means you will need either a modchip with a bios that allows you to run unsigned XBEs, or a softmod exploit, such as the UDE.
Cromwell/Xromwell also has a number of other functions, such as locking and unlocking hard disks, and selecting video modes (PAL/NTSC switching).

OzXBios (Cromwell) is a customized version of the Cromwell bios for distribution with the OzXChip modchip, it has been changed to incorporate a modchip flashing feature that requires a CD with BIOS.BIN to be inserted in the XBox's DVD-Rom drive. Once a CD is inserted into the drive the bios looks for a BIOS.BIN file and if it is found it will flash this onto the modchip (provided it has flash support in the bios for the modchip type), if the BIOS.BIN file is not found (or is the wrong size) the bios will attempt to boot Linux off the CD.
As a worldwide first we have packaged the OzXFlash software (based on Andy Green's Raincoat) which allows the OzXChip to be shipped in a completely legal form. By using the Cromwell Linux bios and the freely downloadable OzXFlash software you can flash your OzXChip with your bios of choice without the need to plug a programmer and modchip into your PC. The Cromwell Linux bios is now programmed onto all OzXChips as standard.
You need SmartXX OS 3323 or higher. Simply flash this language.bin to your SmartXX like a normal update.
Inside the config, you can now swap the languages.
In mainmenu, you can switch back to "default" (english) with Both Triggers + Y

FlashBIOS (Cromwell) is a graphically customized version of the Cromwell bios for distribution with the Xecuter2 modchip (also to be used freely by others) . It has been developed to incorporate a modchip flashing feature that requires a CD with BIOS.BIN to be inserted in the XBOX's DVD-ROM drive. Once a CD is inserted into the drive the bios looks for a BIOS.BIN file and if it is found it will flash this onto the modchip (provided it has flash support in the bios for the modchip type). There is also an erase / programming progress bar for you to monitor the success of the flashing.
